The Alliance Against Hunger and Malnutrition (AAHM) would like to announce that a regional workshop to launch the European Alliance Against Hunger and Malnutrition will be held at FAO headquarters in Rome on Monday 21 and Tuesday 22 October 2013.
In this context, the regional workshop, organized by the Secretariat of the AAHM with the participation of the National Alliances of Europe and their new partners, the national food bank networks of France, Italy, Portugal, and Spain, the workshop will have the following objectives:
• To share knowledge and experiences on international initiatives related to food security and the fight against hunger, malnutrition and poverty;
• To stimulate serious consideration of initiatives useful in the setting up of national Alliances and make it possible to capitalize at the regional level on good practices and lessons learned;
• To provide strategic responses to questions linked to food security, hunger, malnutrition, and the fight against food waste for the benefit of the poorest communities;
• To launch the European Alliance Against Hunger and Malnutrition and a regional plan of action.
